El conmutador 2 a 1 para uso compartido de periféricos USB 3.0 USB221SS permite compartir un solo periférico USB 3.0 con 2 sistemas informáticos diferentes, lo cual evita tener que adquirir periféricos iguales más modernos, o bien tener que cambiar de cable para utilizar uno u otro sistema.
El conmutador para uso compartido de USB ofrece rapidez y flexibilidad, con sencillos botones de control para la conmutación entre equipos, así como soporte para ancho de banda SuperSpeed USB (hasta 5 Gbps), lo cual garantiza rápidas transferencias de datos desde/hasta el periférico compartido. Este conmutador también es retrocompatible con USB 2.0/1.1 (480 Mbps, 12 Mbps, respectivamente), lo cual evita preocuparse de que un equipo o periféricos de generación anterior no funcionen.
El conmutador de 2 puertos USB también se puede conectar a un concentrador USB, con el fin de ampliar el número de dispositivos que se pueden compartir entre los dos sistemas conectados. También se puede conectar a una caja de unidad de disco o a una estación de conexión, como solución de uso compartido de almacenamiento externo.
El conmutador tiene un diseño compacto que ocupa poco espacio y obtiene la alimentación eléctrica a través de USB, por lo cual no hay que conectarlo a un tomacorriente.
