Last year we announced the exciting news that we were launching a sustainable bottle design competition with our sustainability partners, Chilly’s.
Students were given the brief to submit a design that encapsulates the things that have helped them love their time at Leeds, for the chance to have their design printed on a bottle and sold in LUU’s Gear & Union Shop.

The story behind the design
“The biggest highlight of my time at Uni so far has definitely been the friends I have made – every figure depicted is based off someone who has made my time at Leeds more memorable and enjoyable. The picture is split in thirds and shows a typical day in a student’s life at Leeds. It starts in the library, then a catch up in Hyde Park with your friends, and ends on a night out! The style that was chosen is reminiscent of an old Indian folk art style called Kalamkari – which originates from the part of India I am from. Since coming to Uni, I have learnt to really appreciate and be proud of my culture and heritage so I wanted the design to reflect that too.”
