Known as the “King of Pop,” Michael Jackson is one of the bestselling music artists of all time. He began his career as a member of the Jackson 5 before going solo in 1971. Jackson was known for his theatrical performances with dance moves like the moonwalk, and his hit music videos “Beat It,” “Billie Jean” and “Thriller” contributed to the rise of MTV. During his career, Jackson had 13 No. 1 singles and racked up a Golden Globe Award, 39 Guinness World Records and 13 wins from 38 Grammy Award nominations. Throughout the ‘90s and 2000s, Jackson was accused of sexually abusing multiple minors, but he was never convicted. Jackson was married to Lisa Marie Presley from 1994 to 1996 and Debbie Rowe from 1996 to 2000. Jackson and Rowe welcomed children Prince, Paris and Bigi in 1997, 1998 and 2002, respectively. Jackson died at age 50 in 2009 after suffering cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles. Two years later, it was determined that Jackson died from an overdose of propofol administered by his doctor, Conrad Murray, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
