Using the Philips Hue app (available on iOS and Android) to control the entire system, a room's atmosphere is put in your hands. With Bluetooth, you can control this bulb straight out of the box using the Hue Bluetooth app, and it works with Alexa and the Google Assistant voice assistant devices.

With 16 million colour variations to choose from, you can set Hue to the mood that suits you. Colours can be saved as 'Scenes', so you can revisit your favourites, or you can choose from the available presets. These 'light recipes' have been proven to create the perfect atmosphere for your needs. The 'Reading' recipe is ideal for curling up with a book, while 'Relax' provides a soothing glow. 'Concentrate' will help you stay alert when working, while 'Energise' bathes you in vibrant lights to revitalise you. This bulb is part of the 'richer colours' range for an even more vivid illumination experience.

Programmable
Hue works as more than just a colourful light bulb. It can be tailored to your life with alarms, timers and alerts, so you can set Hue to wake you up with a soft sunrise glow, or to turn all of your Hue lights off at bedtime. Hue lights can flash at you to let you know when your food is ready to come out of the oven, or to let you know when your favourite TV show is starting. You can set your lights to come on when you're away, to deter thieves, or control them remotely via the portal, from anywhere in the world. Geofencing technology can be used to turn your Hue lights on as you enter the door. Hue can even be linked to data feeds via the IFTTT (If This Then That) service, to give you a visual alert when you get an important email or when the weather changes.

With the free 'Hue' app you can control your lights with movies and music from anywhere through your iOS and Android smart devices. Ambilight+hue (iOS and Android) can expand your TV viewing experience by extending your Ambilight TV colours to your Hue light bulbs, creating a more immersive experience. Ambify for iOS and hue Disco for Android make Hue react to music, providing you with an instant dance floor.

Bluetooth
With the Hue Bluetooth app (available on iOS and Android), you can control this bulb directly from your smart phone, without the need for the Hue bridge. The app can control up to ten bulbs.

Works with voice assistants
