Widely regarded as the world’s most famous classicist, Dame Mary Beard, 68, is a television and radio presenter, the author of more than 20 books and a trustee of the British Museum who has made it her mission to bring stories of the ancient world to the masses. Last year, she retired after a 40-year academic career at Cambridge where she remains a fellow of Newnham College. We sat down with her to find out more about her extraordinary life and career.
